My fiesta video was exclusively styled by celebrity dress company Jovani Couture, Ricky Trendy shades, and my shoes by Rashidah Ali. If you had to ask what Somaya Reece’s style was. I’d say. Somaya’s style is a classic 1950′s bombshell diva look with a 2011 edge with attitude 
I invited all my TEAM SOMAYA girls to come out and star in my video. All of my boss ladies showed up lookin FAB! My girl Cherry Martinez from POWER 105.1 NYC came to shake her hips in a cameo too.

I was blessed to meet my producer Cito on the beat who was one of the only people who believed in me and the sound I wanted to make. He introduced me to DJ Spinking and he introduced me to Lumidee. We all connected on a a humble and artistic level. We made this record “Dale Mami” being the sound I was looking for many years in L.A. And there you have it. I got my first placement on “Love and Hip Hop” on Vh1. The rest is history.
This is my first single off of my mixtape/album “Rebel With A Cause” releasing late May early June.

I made this song to represent the true meaning of love. Love withstands the highs and the lows. I left my entire family, flew accross the US to New York City with 1 bag to pursue my dream. I took a HUGE RISK! I left a comfortable lifestyle, a nice house, new car, everything. I kissed my mother on the forhead and told her I would be back. When I got to NYC everything was stripped away from me. I had to ride the bus again like I did growing up in South Central, I didn’t have an apartment to live in, but I had high hopes. I did it for my mother and father. To give them the American dream they were unable to achieve. I toughed it out because I beleived something magical would happen. part of those struggles is what lead me to write this song. I presented it to Jim Jones. The rest is history.
The meaning behind the song is simple. We live n a world of materialism where the foundation of love has been forgotten. Love through the highs/lows VS love for materialism. If I lost it all today. Would you still love me? If I had to get on the bus. Would You still love me?

Somaya Reece while gaining fans and respect for her openness about her past and dedication to hard work in pursuit of her future, has had her name attacked by the still shots of a feature comedy film being used as a way to attach her to soft porn. The movie MTO used as their weaponry was a comedy film in which Somaya played a character similar to the roles in the American Pie movie series. The nudity involved was by no means connected to porn in any sense of the word.
