Somaya Reece scores record “Ooh Baby Baby” & role in Lionsgate film (details here)

Hey guys I have some AMAZING news
I scored my song “Ooh Baby Baby” produced by Scoop Deville, in a Lionsgate film “Go For It” directed by Carmen Marron, starring George Lopez’s Aimee Garcia. Not only am I performing in it as Somaya Reece, but I have a small role in it as well. This is a very touching Latin based film story about having a dream but having nothing but obstacles from your own family telling you that your dreams are out of reach, to haters trying to stop you from pursuing your dream. Sounds familiar?
I was given the script to read and offered a small role in it. As my acting teacher says there are no such thing as small roles only small actors. After reading the touching script and connecting to the star character. I was happy to tell Carmen the director I accept the role. Little did I know that after everything going so well on set, being humble and the professional I always am. My small role turned out to be a much bigger role, scoring my song as the main song of the film and performing in the movie. I was honored and am humbled to have been chosen to be a part of “Go For It” it was a blessing. I’m very happy to be a part of promoting my Latin culture in a positive light in dance, hip hop, film and television!
Go For It will be released this year at a theatre near you May, 2011 through Lionsgate films.
