[PHOTOS] Somaya Reece #LoveAndHipHop Season 2 cast photoshoot

October 5, 2011 in Candid Thoughts

Yesterday was a super long day but felt immensely productive. Vh1 shot the new cast photo with the new cast members. It was a crazy set I showed up and there was like a million bodyguards. I won’t even get into saying why. I’m sure you can guess why. Well nonetheless I had a blast and chatted with some of the girls. Everyone looked GREAT, the concept is really cool and very edgy. I also shot my personal commercials, vignette for my segments and storyline. I am very excited that I shot my commercial thingy in an environment that represents me well.

Here are a few photos I didn’t post, some I did. I will post more at another time as well. I’ve been working out like a maniac!!! I think it’s showing ;) I have figured out how to style myself according to my frame and also I am now a size 10 smaller. My stylist Ricky Da’Vista has been helping me with what looks GOOD on my curves. Styled in my Stella Mccartney Boots, my own diamonds & , a custom shredded  dress, and a BCBG leather jacket. Full body….

New music on #LoveAndHipHop & what’s next musically for Somaya Reece

October 5, 2011 in Candid Thoughts

Hey guys. Just a quick update on “what’s next for “Somaya Reece” music wise.

I have 3 projects releasing with budgets & major record label & TV networks behind them. Firstly  my Latin (all Spanish) project, my mix tape “Rebel With A Cause”, and my single on my show Love And Hip Hop called “Fuego”…..

—-My Latin single is a merengue record “Eh Mama” with Sony Music Group, Louis James, produced by Richy Pena. Releasing in October. We have already shot a video to this in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Going on iTunes.

—-My mix tape “Rebel With A Cause” will be released in November/Dec along with the single Fuego.

—-I have a single coming out recorded on my show Love And Hip Hop that is my OFFICIAL English single pushing thru the show, it’s called “Fuego” ft Midi Mafia, produced by Midi Mafia.

There are no slow love jams like “Would you Still Love Me” it is a whole nother level of music.  My now developed sound  is a fuse of Latin cultural, Hip Hop , and club music. No matter how you feel, there will be a song that you can vibe to. Forget about your troubles and dance! It is important that I put my Latin roots and sound into all my new music. My Latin culture is very important to me. Although it doesn’t get a lot of media in the US,  Hip Hop urbano does exist. I’m not featuring a lot of artists, just a few that have had my back for real on my way up. Some I absolutely HAD to have on my records because I like them. I want people to see my growth and hear it clearly in my music.

Anyways. I’m also shooting videos to some of these records. I’m very confident and proud of my new material. And for those who digg a new sound con  SABOR!!!! You will love it :)

Thank you for always supporting me TEAM SOMAYA ALL DAY!

I’m in L.A, Somaya the California sunshine girl

September 29, 2011 in Candid Thoughts

Right now I am filming Season 2 of Love And Hip Hop in New York where I also live.  Had a week off so I decided to  take a  little unexpected vacation to my hometown L.A. Mannnnnnn it feels good to be back in my humble  home and huge bed. lol Since I have arrived I have literally been non stop vising my real friends, hiking, and  passing out  super EARLY. I had the worlds longest flight and day at the airport. UGH you don’t even want me to get into that story. Anyways. Back to the things I LOVE ABOUT L.A. Something most L.A people do is go hiking to the top of this mountain, when you reach the top you over look beautiful L.A. Foggy sometimes tho. It can’t be L.A without it. ha So yeah I hit up Runyon Canyon and I am ridiculously sore. Agggg I missed that! Another thing I love to do here and miss a lot.  Is getting in my car and driving, the simple independence of driving has been  fun for me!! I took the longest drive yesterday it was amazing. L.A is where my heart is……..ahhhhh Cali is forever sunny :)

Somaya Reece Talks Season 2 of Love & Hip Hop in Vibe magazine

September 29, 2011 in News

Hey guys  Vibe Magazine has posted my interview, check it out here  Vibe Vixen (click here)

Here goes a small piece of the article CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL 2 PAGE ARTICLE:

Somaya “Boss” Reece is a woman ahead of her time. Putting her nickname into action, this buxom diva allowed cameras to capture the beginnings of her New York journey on the first season of VH1’s Love & Hip-Hop. Proving she’s a fighter, La Jefa has returned for round 2 of the critically acclaimed show, poised and with a focus on her brand (including a tequila and clothing venture). Now hip to the inner workings of reality television, Bossy Montana strives to be more than her reality star status and deliver that which seems to be only understood by her most loyal fans. Determined to express herself while steering clear of distractions, will the voice of this Latina Vixen finally be heard? VIBE Vixen checked in with Somaya as she chats about season 2 of Love & Hip-Hop, relationships with the new castmates and her role this time around.

VIBE VIXEN: It’s been about a year since you’ve shot the first season of Love & Hip-Hop, how does it feel to come back for season 2?
